Alotau
Alotau, meaning 'Bay' in the Suau language, is the provincial capital. Alotau and its busy harbour are spectacularly sited on the edge of Milne Bay.
Alotau, Milne Bay Province, is one of the most relaxed and stress free towns in Papua New Guinea. Even though the town is a quiet one, there is still plenty to do; scuba diving, Organised luxury tours, plenty of entertainment in bars & clubs for the evenings.
With spectacular views of the bay the harbour is a colourful buzzing place to walk around. There is always an array of boats of different colours and sizes coming and going against the backdrop of the mountains, which surround the bay.
