Port Moresby
The city is home to people from more than 800 cultures and tribes, and the country's largest foreign community. The National parliament Building, whit its striking blend of modern architecture and traditional design, can be found here. From Ela Beach in the city, and Koki, the venue of colourful market, the road leads inland to Boroko and Waigani suburbs. Jackson International Airport is the gateway for international traveller to Papua New Guinea and the hub of country's domestic service. Air Niugini is operating flights to Port Moresby from many domestic and international destinations.
Port Moresby has several five-star hotels, most commercial hotels and motels offer modern facilities, as well as information on tours and sightseeing services.

There is plenty to keep you occupied in Port Moresby for a day or two even though it is not so much of a paradise as the rest of the country. There are a number of great markets in Port Moresby to visit, even if you’re not buying. The National Museum and Art gallery are worth a visit as well as the National Botanical Gardens, which has free entrance.
Tours of the city are a great chance to see Port Moresby and also visit Paga Hill or Touaguba Hill where there are fantastic views down over the harbour and the city. If you want to relax on the beach away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Ela Beach is the place to go.
Not far from Port Moresby is Papua New Guineas first park, Varirata National Park. There are a number of interesting walks, as well as magnificent views over Port Moresby and the coast, and between June and November it is possible to see birds of paradise.
The annual Hiri Moale festival is held every September for three days celebrating one of the epic trading voyages between central province villagers and the people in the Gulf of Papua. It is a festival of traditional dance, singing and drama not to be missed.
