Air Niugini attend British Birdwatching Fair
Vikki Joyce, UK representative of Air Niugini, recently spent 3 days at the world famous British Birdwatching Fair(Birdfair) held at Rutland from 19th to 21st August 2011. She was part of a dedicated team from Papua New Guinea which included:Vikki Joyce - Air Niugini, Joyce Wako - Country Tours, Neoma Napasu - Country Tours, Brian Coates - Dove Publications/PNG TPA Rep, Cheyne Benjamin - Walindi, Samuel Kepuknai - Kiunga Nature Tours, Jan Hasselberg - Tufi Guest Houses, Richard Parks - Trans Niugini Tours and Alice Kuaningi - PNG Tourism Promotion Authority.The team was very active in meeting people who expressed an interest in visiting the country and the stand was prominent in a busy show. The team were promoting the PNG Tourism Authority's slogan "A million different journeys" to the thousands of visitors all brought together by a love of BIrd watching and in particular global bird conservation. The PNG invitation to Bird Watchers was to "come and visit Papua New Guinea to see the beautiful endemic birds, including many species of the famous Bird of Paradise, most of which are found in PNG only. The many splendid bird watching locations throughout the country range from high mountains and vast rainforests to oceanic islands." The British Bird Watching Fair is the world's first and largest international Birdwatching event hosting visitors from all over the world. Air Niugini is proud to work with the PNG tourism authority to promote PNG as one of the world's most exciting destinations for bird watchers. Vikki Joyce said:" This is my favourite fair of the year,mostly because of the infectious enthusiasm of both exhibitors and visitors for this fascinating subject. It's an experience second only to a bird watching holiday in PNG !"
